“I use my work to democratize art. To make sure that art connects with people emotionally and intellectually where they live their lives using as many platforms as possible. I look at the world and I see so many things that are concerning and I see the way that art can affect people. It can draw them into an issue that they might otherwise reject or ignore. I see art as the visual version of a great protest song or a great song in general that seduces with a beat and a melody but then delivers something provocative with the lyrics. That’s what I’m trying to do with my visual art. I want to pull people in and make them think.”
